“The corridor”, 2022

The Corridor is an artistic work that explores the concept of reclaiming territory. It takes the form of a carpet made from clothes collected in the Onex-Cité neighborhood. This carpet illustrates symbolic elements of local urban culture: a Lyon-style taco, an Adidas logo, and the number 13.

Through this carpet, which defines a new space, I decided to reclaim The Corridor – a place where the local youth often gather. Neither fully indoors nor entirely outdoors, this shelter serves as an ideal refuge, although it is often cleared out by the police.

With this project, created in collaboration with the photographer Jade Arrighi, we sought to transform this space, for one evening, into a true sanctuary for these young people who spend much of their time there.
